La connivence

Château La Connivence stands on a superb terroir in Pomerol. As tradition demands, the soil is worked by horse. It has an annual production of some 2,500 bottles. Only twelve bottles are allocated per vintage and per person.

2009

The robe is shiny with purple reflections. The first nose offers spicy aromas and flavors of sandalwood, blackberry ending with notes of plum and black olive. That is the expression of a very sunny season on the Pomerol gravels. On the palate you can fell the great ripeness of this vintage : Silky attack followed by soft and faded tannins, underlined by toasted notes. The finish shows a great ageing potential of ten years, worthy of the greatest vintages.

2010

Coming from the best vines of the estate, this wine shows a dark, intense and purple robe. The nose is rich and complex blended with black fruits and soft spices notes, floral touch (carnation). Palate is rich, round ; finish is full of charm and elegance with a hint of soft and subtle tannins. A beautiful Pomerol wine.

2011

Château La Connivence 2011 shows a deep dark ruby color. Blackberry and blackcurrant aromas jump out of the glass. The attack is nice, round and sweet leading to a long and refined woodsy finish. This wine has a 15 to 20 years ageing potential.

2014

This vintage presents a very dark color, proof of small yield. The nose is very mature, mixing notes of dark fruit, exotic flowers, pollen and also toasted aromas very typical from the gravely vein in the soil. In mouth, the wine takes a spherical shape, medium power with smooth, soft and very elegant tannins. It is full black fruits and licorice flavors. The finish inspires precision and leaves the memory of a very sensual Pomerol.

LA BELLE CONNIVENCE

The second wine of Château la Connivence is called “La belle Connivence”. This little brother is reflecting the complicity and friendship uniting the 4 owners.

2014

Very expressive, the nose combines fresh fruit and woody notes. Like its big brother, this wine shows an intense ruby color and expresses ripe fruits flavors, with a hint of vanilla. This vintage, is able to aged in your cellar for five to six years at least. It will pair beautifully all you red meat and cheese.

Superficie : 1,36 hectares (3.2 acres).

terroir : clay-gravel.

grape varieties : 100% Merlot.

Vinification : Château La Connivence is vinified in small, inverted tronconic stainless steel vats with ultra-modern temperature control.

ageing : 100% brand new French oak barrels for malo-lactic fermentation and ageing. The wine is rounded for 12 to 18 months in barrels.
